Yama Soft in the form of a sandwich panel with a honeycomb core has at least one zone with resilient and elastic properties. These ‘soft’ zones are created by deliberately pressing the honeycomb core. Yama Soft offers the combination of the high flexural rigidity of the panels with elastic zones in the core and thus provides excellent transport protection for sensitive and easily breakable objects.
Made entirely of paper and 100% recyclable.
An additional advantage of the sandwich panel is its environmental friendliness: it is made of 100% paper and uses water-soluble glue, making it fully recyclable. This packaging solution not only protects your products, but also the environment!
- Available in different dimensions and sizes
- Can replace foam padding
- Provides transport protection of easily breakable items
- Absorbs shock-like impacts several times – resilience of the material
- Fully recyclable through 100% paper & water soluble glue

Further details and advantages of Yama Soft

Raw material & product specifications
Yama Soft consists of fully or partially compressed paper honeycomb panels. All our liners – test liner, kraft liner, grey board, grey board laminated and SK Board – can be processed. The end products vary in size, height and compression intensity, customised to your requirements.
Product dimensions
Our paper honeycomb panels with the usual material combinations serve as the basis. Our three standard cell widths and an initial height of up to 100 mm are possible. For full-surface pressing, the board may be a maximum of 1,900 × 1,200 mm in size.

Resilience and further processing
Yama Soft has a cushioning resilience and returns to its pressed material thickness after loading.
After pressing, it can be further processed by punching out holes. Customised dimensions are also possible according to customer requirements.
Application examples of Yama Soft

Yama Soft offers cushioning protection, for example for furniture packaging, which absorbs shocks during transport and thus ensures the integrity of the elements.
Further application examples
- Transport protection for individual shipments
- Upholstery of furniture parts
- Impact protection for technical products
- Sustainable protective padding alternative

Frequently asked questions & answers // FAQ
Yama Soft is a sustainable alternative to conventional cushioning materials such as foams, polystyrene (EPS), bubble wrap, PE foam, foam inserts and packaging chips. It offers an environmentally friendly solution with shock-absorbing properties, replacing plastic-based materials in packaging and protection applications.
Our honeycomb boards form a stable outer shell, while Yama Soft provides cushioning protection. Thanks to its resilience, it absorbs shocks several times over, increasing the safety of your products.
We manufacture individually according to customer requirements in various dimensions – we do not offer fixed standard sizes.
